2012 AUSTRALIAN SPEEDCAR CHAMPIONSHIP
The
2012 Australian Speedcar Championship is shaping up as one
of the most closely contested titles for some years. Two
Kiwis will take on Australia’s best and a string of young
guns keen to take the spoils when they assemble in
Maryborough to do battle on 16/17 March. New Zealand will be
represented by their reigning national champion Michael
Pickens and Michael Kendall who has taken out that
championship on five occasions. Pickens will again team up
with the Polar Ice team and owner Jack Berry while Kendall
will drive a recently built car owned by fellow Kiwi Dwayne
Neilsen. Pickens has some unfinished business after
dropping from first to third in the last lap of last year’s
title when a tyre popped.
