THE NEW SUPERMOTO TRACK IS READY TO GO.

THE approval of a new supermoto track has reaffirmed Maryborough's title as regional Queensland's premier motorsport destination.

Queensland Raceways CEO John Tetley flew himself to the former kart track at Tinana to cast his eye over the result of an 18-month, community-led project driven by track operations co-ordinator, rider, and motorsports enthusiast Hayden Baldwin.

What Tetley saw was a facility that, when combined with the speedway next door, khanacross course, BMX track, Action Park and the proposed Wide Bay Motor Complex, put Maryborough far ahead of any other regional destination.

ADVERTISING

"You're actually well ahead of the average and there are plenty of young people around which helps," Tetley said. "If you go to a larger regional centre like Townsville, what have you got there? Not much. Mackay? Not much.

"Maryborough is well ahead of the game there."

For Baldwin, Tetley's visit to the open trial day is the culmination of 18 months of hard work by him, fellow committee members and riders, and volunteers.

Countless working bees, track revisions and help from the local community has seen the birth of the only supermoto track between Brisbane and Proserpine, trips Baldwin had completed several times before he took action.

"I just thought on those early mornings to Brisbane and driving home after a big day of riding, we need something around here," Baldwin said. "I heard they were wanting to get this place going and I had a proposal ready. I put it in and they welcomed it with open arms."

By "they", Baldwin means Maryborough Speedway, of which he is a committee member. The speedway kept its distance, allowing Baldwin to create a track that catered specifically to the sport's needs.

Baldwin, who was one of several riders who graced the newly accredited track last week, was thankful to every person who helped.

"It feels awesome to finally be here," he said.

"I've lived out here most weekends for 18 months with my dad and a heap of other people have helped out. Volunteers, working bees - we've had guys travel from Sunshine Coast and Rockhampton, we've had people wanting to travel to help us out.

"Maryborough Speedway has helped us immensely, they own this whole complex so they've allowed us to do it. We've had people donate machinery, their time and operators."

One of those is Georgiou Group, a construction company currently working on the Tinana Interchange upgrade. They agreed to shift excess dirt from the site to the new facility to serve as spectator mounds, among other things.

That minor gesture of turning one group's waste to a community group's treasure was a major point in mayor Chris Loft's praise for the facility.

"A corporate business helping a community organisation with what's rubbish to them is an asset to the group here," Cr Loft said.

"This is all community, it's using what we've got. Passionate people with an interest in a sport, and look what can happen."

Fraser Coast Supermoto Riders will host its grand opening at the first official Fraser Coast Small Wheels event at the track on June 4.

Junior Sedan Qld Title Winners 2016-17 Season Congratulations!

Ist Ardie Jonic
2nd Casey Collins
3rd Casey O'Connell
4th Jack Cameron
5th Joel Berkey

Well
The season of 2016/17 has come to an end and to say it was eventful would be certainly an understatement. ..
Firstly we would like to thank the Boys on the Graders for a Fantastic effort to even get a track to Race on after a deluge of rain soaked the track from the night before. .. From 8.30am to 6pm, Both Andrew Corbett ( Corbetts group ) and Wayne Barbler ( Jac Civil ) worked tirelessly to get us a start, along with our great Volunteers ... And Gentlemen we are very thankful going above and Beyond. .. especially Corbett not only on the Grader .. But Sponsoring the event .. Racing in the event and being a parent watching his young fella Jye racing in the QLD Title.

The night kicked OFF with Hot laps and Qualifying for Sprintcars in front of a Brilliant and patient crowd on a challenging track, and after Hot laps it was Kev Titman with a 13.13 at the top of the list .. Before Qualifying saw Brodie Tulloch top the sheets, with QUICK TIME 12.4 seconds in the 74 and was extremely happy with his efforts.

The QLD Title for Juniors saw some Brilliant Racing in the Heats with Joel Curd,Ardie Jonic x2, Callum Auld, Kipp Baron, Nic Moncrieff, Bryce Lack, Casey O'Connell and Jack Cameron all grabbing Heat wins with Kipp Barons Heat win being the Heat race of the night and again showing the talent of young drivers in this Awesome class.

Modlites... although not getting the Feature due to time... Certainly put on a show and it was Scotty Lehfeldt who was the cut amongst Class winning 3 from 3 in the 6 heats and Klinton Hancey, Steve Collins and Terry Leerentveld sharing the spoils in the other 3 ... The Feature promised to be a Cracker But again the Maryborough club is very thankful for the understanding due to Time.

B Main for Juniors saw a great Dog fight early for 2nd through to 5th with Abi Meehan, Zac Pascoe, Aaron Carswell and Kiya Schnabel all trying to make the top 4 in the transfer. . When a red came on and Abi couldn't get the Number 2 refired ... the Win going to Kurtis Peall in his first QLD Title attempt, Carswell, Pascoe and Schnabel going with him to the A Main.

Feature Time for QLD Juniors Title
And the crowd were treated to an edge of the seat Battle, as from the drop of the green, Casey O'Connell who started on the front row with Jonic grabbed the lead early and set the pace, as Collins who started back in the pack was on the charge along with Jack Cameron and Joel Berkley and Dekota Laverty easing into Race Rythum over the 20 lap journey.
Jonic grabbed the lead and set sail at lap 9 and the crowd were treated to great driving as Collins was threading his way in traffic and after dealing with Jack Cameron and Casey O'Connell. .. the fight was on as Collins was up to 2nd with O'Connell 3rd and Jack Cameron not far off in 4th ... with only a few stopages the scene was set until With a few to go Dekota Laverty was involved in a crash that bought on the reds and a long delay as she was extracted from the car and taken to hospital later for precautions.
On the green and 3 to go Collins made an outstanding move on the outside of Jonic to grab the lead only to have the yellows come on again meaning we go back a lap and Casey had to go back to 2nd ... from there Jonic wasn't headed again grabbing his first Q1 to go with his multitude of other state wins .. Collins home in 2nd from Casey O'Connell 3rd ... Jack Cameron 4th and Joel Berkley finished in the Top 5.
Congrats to our podium winners and all our Wonderful juniors on a Brilliant season and can't wait to do it all again next Season and to Aaron Carswell, Jack Cameron, Joel Berkley, Simon Walker and Nic Moncrieff in thier last Title. .. Boys thanks for Memories and look forward to seeing what classes you turn up driving in Next Season.

SPRINTCARS
After 3 years and Hot laps and Qualifying done
Heat races saw Dave Whell, Brock Dean, Kevin Hill, Darren Jensen, Andrew Lebkie and Andrew Corbett all get wins on a very challenging track .... Tony Wynne the only man to suffer damage in the Heats ... It was Kev Hill and Allan Woods in Heat 3 going wheel to wheel in the Best Heat of the night and Kevin Hill getting his first Heat win but it was Woodsy with all 4 wheels off the ground that had the crowd holding thier breath. .. Awesome driving by both pilots...
After a long delay and 11.50pm .. the Feature was pushed away and with a Very patient crowd that had endured a very long night waiting with anticipation. ... it unfortunately all came to an end at the end of the straight in the first hundred and twenty meters on lap 1 with 2 cars coming together and Kevin Titman sent over and over towards the fence ending upside down ... other casualties were Brent Aprille ... Cody Maroske also upside down and Brodie Tulloch all drivers thankfully walked away ... due to the time and damage. . QLD Sprintcars Clem Hoffman chose to call it a night ... Both the Sprintcars and Maryborough club apologise to the Fabulous large crowd that had stayed ... But both had promised to do the best of what we were dealt with due to weather the day and night before and the Heats certainly didn't disappoint. .. We at the Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway thank all drivers for the efforts and hope that we can get the SPRINTCARS back again soon.

To the Crowd THANK YOU again for your Support and staying on a late night ... we look forward to a Jam packed 60th season of Racing at Maryborough starting on the 28th October. .. to our Volunteers and Sponsors. .. we can't do it without you and look forward to your continued support .. Please keep an eye on the Facebook and website for Programs during the winter months including Burnouts and Kart Racing. ... Enjoy the off Season until next we are back and Let's Let Em Loose. ... Macca

Kevin Titman was the Last man to stand on the Top step 3 Seasons ago and will be out to repeat the Feature win .. But knows that with a field of Superstars it will be a fight to the checker to see who will take the MONEY.

QLD TITLE for 36 Junior Sedans on the Program.. and with a Stellar field of juniors on show .. it will again have the crowd on their feet as Casey Collins will try and defend his Q1 .. But with Ardie Jonic, Simon Walker, Nic Moncrieff, Casey O'connell and the Gas Girl Dekota Laverty all showing Fantastic form last round at Burra .. Few Words from Tony Scriven

A huge night of action lies in wait this Saturday at Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway as those Wild Things with Big Wings make their long overdue return to re...gional Speedway in Queensland. And along with the mighty 410 V8 Sprincars, at somewhat less velocity but certainly no less excitement, the Young Stars of Speedway will battle it out for the QLD Junior Sedan Title. Can Bundaberg's own Casey Collins claim consecutive #Q1's or will Ardie Jonic, Jack Cameron, Joel Berkley and a rapidly improving Dakota Laverty have something in reserve when it really counts, after all showing great form at the track in recent meetings. Add the Mighty Mites in the Junior Quarter Midgets, Flying Mod Lites and the Crazy Banger Bunch and if you go, watch all that action and say you didn't enjoy it..... I'll personally dispatch the Medics from the infield to have you checked for a pulse.

A massive shout-out to Corbets Group for their very generous sponsorship of this meeting. And as always, revving up and expertly calling all the action will be Steve "Macca" McCullough.

Certainly this is one night that you just don't want to miss.

------

Well what a Fantastic 2 Nights of Action that was of the Highest of Quality at Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway starting with night 1 and the Qld Title for v8 Dirt Modifieds.. and if early Heats were the indication then the Feature was going to be a great Battle.
Steve Milthorpe and Dave Clark went nose to tail for the 30 lap journey, with Clark throwing everything at Milthorpe in the last 5 laps but just missing out, and the Popular Victorian getting the win over Clark to take the Q1, but it was Chris Corbett who was on the charge from back in the field and passing cars at will to get himself on the bottom step and finish a great 3rd ...

Formula 500s were back at the Burra in Big numbers for the first time in a while, and Boy did they have the crowd on the edge battling for the Fraser coast Title on night 1.. The Feature saw some big carnage ( caught by Revheads Productions ), None bigger than Nathan Pronger and James Kennedy coming together, Both drivers ok, And by the end it was Ryan Skennar who stood on the top step in a great drive from the Birthday girl Piper Ogilvie home in 2nd and Marshall Lewis 3rd .. Night 2 was the Eddie Hughes Memorial, and again the crowd were treated to some great Racing in the Heats .. Feature time and the Youngest in the field at 16 proved that he was here to not just make up the numbers with Randy Morgan getting the win over Tristan Johnson and Marshall Lewis again in 3rd .. Can't wait for the KRE Series next season.

Saturday night also saw Junior 500s for the first time at Maryborough and it was Nic Whell getting the win in the 5 car battle and the Kids certainly got a fair amount of attention during our pit walk and thanks to the kids that made the trip, can't wait to have them back.

Junior Sedans Fought it out over 2 nights for the Silver Crown and Night 2 saw it all thrown on the line .. The Consultation Main saw Mitch Simmons from Rocky get the win from Bryce Bayfield and Josh Rigby .. Encouragement award to Kane Richters ..
But it was the drive in the A Main that got the crowds interest with Ardie Jonic and Casey Collins putting on a driving display that went all the way to the finish with the Boys swapping the lead several times, But it was Collins in the end that got the Win and Jonic home 2nd .. Kurtis Peall was home in a Brilliant 3rd with Nic Moncrieff and Kate Storey .. with the Qld Title for juniors on the 20th of May at Maryborough it's all is looking like a Fantastic Battle in the making.
Street Stocks Cannon Ball run saw defending Winner Travis Hutchinson get the win driving for Gillian Kosh over Peter Thompson and John Stoward.
The 2 seater, driven by Andrew Corbett was a FANTASTIC sight over the 2 nights with only 1 hiccup on the Saturday night .. but damage was fixed and Back on Sunday to take the winners for the Rides won ..
And a Massive thanks to Dave Whell bringing the #9 410 Sprintcar out for a few Demo runs to give Maryborough a taste of what's to come on 20tj May.

Supports of Nostalgias won by Tony Grablonski on night 1and Barry Tasker on Night 2, Wingless on Night 2 saw Cody O'Connell get the Top step and Super Sedans Josh Maclaren got the W on Sunday.

Maryborough club want to thank all drivers and Teams for a FANTASTIC 2 nights .. our Brilliant Crowds for coming out and supporting.. and our wonderful Sponsors and Volunteers that help run our Great club and Wayne from Jac Civil for a Top track.
Our Attention now turns to the Return after 3 years of the Wild Things with Wings .. 410 Sprintcars .. on the 20th of May along with the Qld Title for juniors .. Hope to see you there and .. Lets Let Em Loose ... Macca

------

Oh What A Night
With Mother Nature trying her Best to put a Dampener on what was to be a Fantastic Evening of Racing .. We kicked the Afternoon off with our Brilliant little QTR Midgets, and although we didn't get to run the Features, The Racing again from these young kids was just great as always.. In our 120 restricted & novice class, the Battle for the series win came down to Abby Peall and Georgie Moller and it was Georgie who came home with the win in her last ever drive in a Qtr by just 4 points .. in our 120 class it was all Kaine Richters proving that consistency is what counts getting the series win ... Congrats to all the kids on a Great series and to of course DGZ accountancy for again getting behind the kids.

With the Rain stopped.. the decision was made .. Let's get it On..
Track prep by Wayne from Jac Civil early in the day saw a very grippy track surface making for some fast times and 3 wide Racing...

Early action saw Gary Pagel score heat wins in National 4s driving the Weir Family Cosworth, along with Ben Stead and Hamish Redman .. and it was Hamish who got the win in the Feature and great to see him back in victory lane.
Mod Sedans, tho down in numbers, as always put on a Great show, Matty Smith got heat wins with Wayne Fisher and Craig Franz and Come Feature time it was Craig Franz who capitalised on a mistake from Smith to grab the win in the 37 Falcon proving Racing in the class is Never over till the Flag drops.
Proddies had the crowds interest as always .. Early heat wins to Josh Arthur, Aaron Sander, and Lincoln Bath But the Feature was dominated by Sander in the Cortina with the Gympie 16 leading from green to checker and grabbing another win at the Bullring.

Anthony Bailey was the Dominate force in the Microsprints winning both Heats and the Feature by a half a lap back to young Jono Gunn and Eddie Schweler rounding out the Podium.
Great to see the Wingless Warriors back in good numbers at Maryborough serving up great Wheel to Wheel action, and Heat wins were certainly spread out with Dave Eggins, Jayme Budgen, Matty Wright and Glen Wright getting wins .. But come Feature time.. it was all the 99 of Glen Wright grabbing the Top step and the Gold cup from Budgen and Eggins .. the Boys putting on some great Racing all night and can't wait to see them back in the near Future.

Qld Title for the Compacts
And Wow .. Early heat Races saw everything getting thrown on the line including a Big Roll by Chris Pidgeon that saw him out for the night .. Early Heat wins to Barry Gibbes, Dave Collins, Nathan Mathers, Wayne Corbett .. But come Feature time it was all Robbie Stewart in the 11 who Battled all the way with Corbett for the Top step .. Great drive by Gibbes to get home in 3rd after starting back in the pack ..All Drivers provided Action all the way back in the field keeping the crowd Entertained all night.

Bangers saw Trent Sanderson get the win with only 5 cars .. Hopefully we can get the numbers up soon.

Maryborough Speedway would like to thank all Competitors for providing a Fantastic Nights Entertainment on a Great Race track.. But Most of all .. Thank you to the 800 people around the track for The support and the Cheering .. The Fans .. We really do appreciate it and see you on the 8th April when the Handle Bar Heros are Back for our Bike meeting .. see you there .. and Let's Let Em LOOSE .. Macca

March 25th will see the Open Wheel gang come to the Bullring at Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway, when we host the Qld Title for Compact Speedcars.
Wayne Corbett, Nathan Mathers, Rob Stewart, Nick Gannon, Emma Harris, Dave Collins and a Host of Hot Shoe Talent all striving to grab the converted Q1.
The Motorcycle powered machines have been looking forward to this one all season, as the cars are very suited to the wide turns at Maryborough and will certainly be out to put on... a Great nights Entertainment.
Love your open Wheelers?
How about the Return of the Wingless Warriors at Maryborough Racing for the Gold Cup , Last time the Boys & Girl were here, Mother Nature won the night.
With all keen to get back and put on a show, they WON'T disappoint, With Wright, Butler, Young Gun O'Connell against locals the Thomsens, Bayfield and the Collins cars, it will be on from the drop of the green and can't wait for this one.
Not enough open wheel Action?
Then how about the Mighty Microsprints.. Shane Munro certainly been the Man in form this Season but will be chased hard by the likes Of Schweler, Gwin, Bailey,Lawson, our lady Racer Rachael Trussell and the 2 Young Guns Jono Gunn and Connor McCullough .. always Great close racing in the Budget class.

Modified Sedans will be back for the first time since New Years and the Aussie Open, all putting it on the line in the BEST Ford v Holden Battle on Dirt and providing that edge of the seat Racing as only they can.
Joined by the Proddies on the same night, the class is full of Superstars, to prove again that they can turn on a show as good as the Mods.
National 4s always great Entertainment for the crowd and will be No different, again proving you don't need a 6 or an 8 to put on great door to door action.

So how do you Round out a Great nights Entertainment?
Bring Back the Bangers .. the crowd loved em last time .. Let's do it again.

Early Racing will start at 1pm with the Quater Midgets kicking it off for the Next Round of the Dgz Series ... so get out Early and set up the Family for what will be an Awesome night of Speedway and Let's Let Em LOOSE .. Macca

Speedway Sedans Australia wishes to inform the cancellation of the National Title, for the National 4s category, which was to be held at the Fraser Shore’s Maryborough Speedway in April.

The decision to cancel any event is taken seriously, to cancel a National Title, even more so, and after consultation with the host venue the decision has been made to cancel, what was to be the inaugural title.

In making the decision, Speedway Sedans Australia took into consideration the concerns raised by the Maryborough Speedway, and in the end the event was considered unviable to conduct.  In awarding the inaugural National Title to Maryborough, it was hoped that this would generate interest in the category which has its stronghold in Queensland and New South Wales.   Competitor numbers in both States have dropped this season, with the largest event for the category failing to attract more than twenty three competitors.  Interest in the category outside of the two States has not been encouraging, with no registered cars, which means the event falls outside of the guidelines of a National category, of having registered competitors in four states.

“It is a very disappointing situation for all concerned, not only for Speedway Sedans Australia, but the Maryborough Speedway and National 4s”, said CEO Greg Lynd.  “The timing is obviously not ideal, only two months out from the event, but realistically, the event in its current form, would not be viable to conduct”.
The event was to be held on Saturday, 23 April 2017 and Sunday, 24 April 2017.

SSA DAY LICENCES NOW INCLUDE INFRINGEMENT CARD

Our new one-day licence process went live on 1 September, and has proven to be a major time saver that makes it easier for casual competitors to get out on the track and participate. We’re now pleased to advise that the process for competitors wanting a one-day licence in eligible Speedway Sedans Australia classes has been streamlined even further.

An infringement card is required to be issued to all SSA licence holders, whether they are utilising a full or one-day licence. This card has now been integrated into the one-day licence, eliminating the need to arrange for a separate payment to be made and a separate card to be issued. Competitors can make one payment to Speedway Australia ($70), and instantly receive their one day licence ($35) and infringement card ($35).

    Saturday 29th October
Things will go Bump in the Night as the Ground Rumbles to the sounds of v8s,
2 Fantastic classes will kick off the Season proper at Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway, the 360 Sprintcars and Mighty 700hp Late Models on Halloween weekend.
The 360s will see Anthony Vanderreyden go to battle with Darren Silcock, Scotty Johnston and Bundabergs Gazza Smith in a field that will see good numbers in the class at the Bullring in their first appearance of 3 th...is season and a great Prelude to the 410 Boys later in the season.

The Mighty Late Models will see Q1 of Nick Girdlestone, Ricky Robinson, Steve Van Zealand go up against the young guns of Carter Armstrong and Josh Schultz throw in Jenner and Wilson and a host of other hot shoes of talent and this is going to be well worth watching.

The Microsprints make their first appearance for the season, and Shane Munro is showing great early form, but won't have it his own way with lady racers Rachael Trussell and Sarah Walker proving she is quick along with Dave Gwin, Eddie Schweler, Anthony Bailey and young Guns Jono Gunn and Connor McCullough and the Ellis Brothers, the little class out to prove they can put on a great show.

Those Future stars of Speedway will make thier debut, with a few old hands going wheel to wheel with some New names .. Casey Collins, Joel Berkley, Ardie Jonic, Ellie Peacock to name a few will again have the crowd on thier feet and showcasing the skill of these young Superstars.

Prodies are back to turn on the Ford v Holden Battle, Russell Cowley, Sam Grundy, Andrew Beaton, Richie and Moz Woodrow  and more to have those that love thier racing close along for the ride on every lap.

Street Stocks will also have a great field on the night with Brayden Pacey and Travis Hutchinson out to defend their back yard from all comers - all wanting to show the low budget class has plenty to offer when it comes to doing Battle at the Bullring.

And of course the wonderful Nostalgia class will be back bringing back the memories of yester year and with numbers growing in this class it should be a great night with Geoff Moller, John Watson, Alan Stewart, and newcomer Kyle Lowe in the Big Valiant, it will certainly be on from the drop of the green. If we had Barrie Tasker , Tony Gablonski, Jamie Purcell all at round 1 it would certainly be a Fantastic field and I'm sure we will get em all as the season goes on.

So Folks there you have it, what a Great opening night of Speedway at Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway, Something for everyone this weekend So Don't miss what will be a Fabulous nights Entertainment .. see you there .. and ...LET'S LET EM LOOSE.

Well the DCM has been run and won and what a fantastic weekend of racing something that Des would have been proud of.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the Sunstate members that competed or came up to Maryborough to support the DCM & Qld Titles, there was a great comradery between all competitors and families with everyone doing there bit to help each other out when it came to getting karts on the track, it was great to see the kids hanging out playing together after heat racers.

Once again each class turned on some dynamite hard fought racing and I don’t think that anyone left anything behind in pits for their features and there were some noticeable driving improvements with some of the junior competitors from the Qld Title on Saturday to the DCM on the Sunday.

Huge thank you to the Interstate Karters that came up to Maryborough to compete in this year’s DCM.

Well done to Donovan Meaney 1st in the Qld Titles & DCM in the Mods and Jason Loft 1st in the Qld Titles & DCM in the Outlaws and backed up with a 2nd in the Mods Qld Titles & DCM, these lads from Victoria peddle hard all weekend and took away a bucket load of silverware, great competitors great guys and hope to see them up here in Qld for another crack at the Title.

The South Coast Club always brings an A Team with them and have been great supporters of the DCM and Qld Titles, big thank you to Dylan & Ray Goodger, Glen & Peta Corish, Brandon Corish and Jade Lasker for making the trip up always a pleasure having you up here.

NWNSWKC was represented by Peter Ellis taking home a 3rd in the DCM, with Taneka Johnson taking out 4th with a great drive, thank you to Luke Hook for Scrutineering and having a crack in the 125 GB Qld Titles.

The NT’s Lone Soldier Aaron Moss come out to play at the Qld Titles but unfortunately had to head home and miss the DCM but I’m sure he’ll be back for another shot.

Aussie #1 Junior Jac Laneyrie didn’t have the best of nights at the Qld Titles but made up for it at the DCM with a 1st place, thanks to Jac and Clay for making the trip north hope to see you next time.

NQ Speedway Kart Club one of the New Clubs with SKAA but certainly made a mark on the Qld Titles with Sam Nucifora taking out Q1 in a Standard on the Saturday night and 3rd Place in the DCM to round out a cracker weekend for him, Jason Brown also in a Standard took out the Q2 on the Saturday night but unfortunately couldn’t repeat that performance on the Sunday at the DCM but I’m sure we’ll see him back for another crack, Eddie Brown brought his New Omega out to play in the Qld 125 Pro Class NGB Titles with a 4th Place and 8th in the DCM 125 Pro Class on the Sunday and Kate Andrews in a standard gave a great account of herself with a solid run in her first Qld Title but unfortunately crashed out in the DCM, I spoke to Kate after the meeting and said she learnt a lot from this trip.

Now comes down to the Winner of the Des Carsburg Memorial Cup Mr Kent Hardgrave, and this man is of the same passion as Des and Churchie he wears his heart on his sleeve and is very giving whether it be financial assistance or he’ll give you some parts to get you going and help put your kart together, he supports 3 junior drivers and is not afraid of a good chat, everyone at the club has been touched by his generosity and the award couldn’t go to more of a fitting recipient, thank you Kent from everyone at Sunstate.
A trophy was added to this year’s DCM for a Junior Competitor this was donated by Gary & Veronica Cossor, the Luke Spalding Memorial Trophy symbolises the will, determination and strength to go on just like Luke and his family did during tough times, this year’s Luke Spalding trophy has gone to Ashleigh Moller who had a nasty crash late in the Junior Qld Title feature but even though she was a little battered and bruised she jumped straight back in the kart to continue the race, she is also a credit to her parents and conducts herself very well by being well-mannered and helpful, and we wish Ashleigh all the best with the rest of the Karting season with Sunstate.

Massive thank you to all our Sponsors

    LOOK OUT MARYBOROUGH

The Best in Speedway karts are on thier way to Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway for 2 days of Fast and furious Action This Weekend, with drivers coming from all over this great country to have a crack at the QLD Title in all divisions on day/night 1, before going at it again on Sunday for the Des Carburg memorial.

With Sub junior's right the way through to 125 shifter karts, and all chasing the coverted Q1, it will certainly be no prisoners taken, wheel to wheel Racing, The 2 Silcock boys both showing form in the Subs will be certainly up front, along with local Georgie Moller, New comer Jayden Hancock always consistent Armani Harders and Jav engine pilot Cody Ball, these kids will be out to show its not just about the Big guys.

Juniors looking strong with Max and Kacey Lee Black resuming the Battle on track with Noah Ball, Harrison Bates, local Ashleigh Moller and a Host of others, all keen to pick it up where they left off in the Winter series.
Standards are always entertaining and this will be one class to keep a close eye to, Matty Gordon, Blake Hancock, Libby Meakin taking on the might of NQ drivers Luke Giddy and Sam Nucifore, and Southerner from Victoria Donovan Meany, with these Karts very close in power and weight, they will be throwing it all on the line.

Outlaws, Shane Crisp will be a certain favorite in this class always giving everything he's got to stay near the front, But Steve Smith, Jade Lasker, and current Vic 1 Jason Loft in the field, Crispy is going to have his weekend full trying to keep em all at Bay.

Modified Karts, and around Maryborough Shane Manning is quick but will he have enough to keep the likes of Donovan Meany and Mitch Whittaker at bay, throw in Jason Loft in this group as well and this could be some of the best racing of the Weekend.

Junior Standards are the emerging future stars of Speedway Karting, Kaleb Webb, Cody Reynolds, Bayley Perrot, Justin Drapper and more looking to show the crowd that they are here to put on a show and impress as they swap, dive, jostle for the Q1 in this class.

The 2 super Classes 125 Non gearbox and 125 Gear box classes are loaded with talent and speed.
Non Gearbox, NT Driver Aaron Moss will be out to make sure the long drive is worth it, Ray and Dylan Goodger always quick and consistent and multiple Title holder Glen Corish and wanting to take the Q1 back home and will be laying it all on the line from the first green.

125 gearbox, and this class will be no different, Current A1 Phill Perrot out to put on a show of force against Russel Williamson, Brandon Corish, Dylan Corish and some of the quickest Karts in Australia, over the 2 days these guys and girls will be the super stars of speed and an awesome pair of classes to keep an eye on.

So just a few from each class to keep an eye over the weekend of talent and we wish all drivers a safe weekend of racing as they Battle it out for the Q1 plate Saturday and cash on Sunday. .. so if your looking for a great way to spend a weekend

... BRING THE FAMILY ... GRAB YOUR SPOT ON THE HILL OR IN THE GRANDSTAND ... AND LET'S LET EM LOOSE  ...

Well on a beautiful sunny winters Arvo. .. Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway came to life with the Mighty Burra Burnouts, to honor the life of Paul SKIDLINE Brooks.
In front of a Fantastic crowd we had a huge number of cars roll out, and again the 6 cylinder class had the biggest turn out, with 36 cars.
With Thanks to Mandy Fox, from Pink Fox Photography, the guys had some Trophies and cash up for grabs, and after the 2 rounds .. 1st place went to Chris Warnock, 2nd Alex Moo...n & 3rd Steve Sim.

Ladies class had 3 girls to do battle, and again it was defending Champion Sharon Adams coming away with the win .. But Young Tabatha Stokes finishing 2nd, certainly showed Sharon has got some competition now in this class and rounding out for 3rd .. Sylvia Beaton.

V8s always a crowd pleaser. . And it was a tough comp .. but in the end Darren Gardiner in 2 Crazy got the win .. 2ND Harry Pammenter and 3rd .. the Wild Flat Rat of Dave Power, certainly a crowd Favorite.

The Fantastic Pro class .. all tho down in numbers. .. certainly got everybody's attention. .. And this certainly was a tight comp .. the Top 3 guys didn't have much between em after the 2 rounds, with
1st Graham Rowley in Fossil getting the win
2nd Kimba in the Awesome Vicious
    3rd Peter Adams 8n Y so Tuff ...
Thanks to everybody who supported the Day, and of course our Major Sponsors, Bob Jane Maryborough, for again getting behind the scenes and keeping it off the streets and Tony Ward for the organisation.

Next Comp is November. .. keep an eye on the Fb page and Website. .. and see ya there
